Nintendo Switch eShop is launching a massive try-before-you-buy sale

The Nintendo Switch eShop recently launched a massive “Try Before You Buy” sale, and it includes big savings on all kinds of games. True to its name, the sale focuses on games that offer free demos on Switch, with up to 80% savings on select titles.

The biggest savings on offer here are between 70-80%, and these are mostly indie games like Ape Out for $3.74, Automachef for $3, and Freedom Planet for $4.49. Ape Out is a top-down fighting game in the vein of Hotline Miami, but with even more style and flair. Freedom Planet is a retro-styled 2D platformer that started life as a Sonic the Hedgehog fangame.

There are also big name series on sale here, including the excellent Rayman Legends Definitive Edition for $10. Breath of the Wild fans might want to check out Immortals Fenyx Rising for $15. And the excellent Klonoa Phantasy Reverie series brings two of the best 2D platformers of all time to modern consoles for $28.

However, there are also substantial 30% off first-party Nintendo games, including ARMS for $42, WarioWare: Get It Together! for $35 and Yoshi’s Crafted World for $42. Probably the best overall deal here is Metroid Dread for $42, as this kind of basic Nintendo exclusive almost never goes on sale. The full list of games is below.
