Nintendo eShop bestseller list for 2018 in Japan, topping Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

In case there is any doubt as to how Smash could do in Japan (although given its wild selling performance in the retail country, there really shouldn’t have been any), the new lists shared by Nintendo for bestsellers on the Nintendo eShop in 2018 in Japan via the News app on the Switch should appease it. On the list of digital performance of games sold only at retail, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is by far the bestseller, beating all the other games.

Quite interesting, Pokémon Let’s go, Pikachu! and Let’s go, Eevee! don’t seem to have done as well – yes, their sales are split across two SKUs, which lowers their potential ranking a bit, but even taking that into account only one of them appears in the top 10.

Nintendo also shared a second roster consisting of digital-only games. this one sees Human: Falling flat and Valley of stars at the top of the charts, with Hollow Knight completing the top five, demonstrating that good taste is universal.
